Nicolo Bulega: MotoGP Debut vs. World Superbike Title Disappointment | 2025 Season Recap (2026)

Nicolo Bulega's MotoGP debut didn't diminish his disappointment over losing the World Superbike title. The Italian rider, who narrowly missed out on his first World Superbike title in October, was called up by Ducati to replace the injured Marc Marquez for the final two MotoGP rounds of the season. Despite scoring points in both events, Bulega admitted that his MotoGP debut didn't make him forget his World Superbike championship loss. He remained focused on his disappointment, stating, 'The disappointment of missing out on the world title remains with me, because MotoGP didn’t make me forget the championship.'

Bulega's title favorite status in World Superbikes for 2026 is undeniable, but he remains cautious about his rivals. He acknowledges that the situation can change each year with new riders and teams entering the scene. Bulega is set to test the 2027 Ducati MotoGP bike in the summer of next year, and he's expected to secure a race seat with Ducati in 2027. However, he's not taking anything for granted, as he knows that the competition will be fierce. 'It's pointless to hide' this fact, he says, but he's determined to stay motivated and focused on his goals.
